Markets & demand / Educational answer

Can a city with many listings still be attractive?

Published October 1, 2026 · 1 minute read

The answer

Listing count measures supply, but attractiveness depends on the relationship between supply, demand, pricing, and costs. A large city may support many properties, while a smaller destination can become crowded quickly.

Examine close substitutes for the specific guest you intend to serve. A market-wide count is less useful than understanding comparable homes with similar capacity, location, facilities, and availability.

This answer is general education. Apply it to the property's actual location, agreements, and circumstances. Where a decision requires professional advice, use a qualified adviser.
