The answer
Evaluate the total economics and guest experience rather than assuming a discount is mandatory. Direct reservations still create payment, marketing, support, and administration costs. Any offer should be transparent and fit the lawful booking process.
Compare contribution for the same dates and stay length. A discount that reduces retained cash without improving a defined objective may not help the business.
