Markets & demand / Educational answer

How often should I refresh market assumptions?

Published October 1, 2026 · 1 minute read

The answer

Refresh assumptions when material conditions change and at regular planning reviews. Relevant changes include new restrictions, major supply shifts, altered travel patterns, and a sustained difference between forecast and actual performance.

Updating daily can create noise; never updating allows old assumptions to harden into false certainty. Use comparable periods and record why the assumption changed so you can learn from the adjustment.

This answer is general education. Apply it to the property's actual location, agreements, and circumstances. Where a decision requires professional advice, use a qualified adviser.
