Markets & demand / Educational answer

How do I evaluate event-driven demand?

Published October 1, 2026 · 1 minute read

The answer

Check the event dates, venue access, expected attendance information where available, and competing accommodation. Separate established recurring events from proposed or uncertain ones. Exceptional nightly prices during an event are not a reliable annual baseline.

Consider cancellations and displacement of other guests. Use event scenarios as an identifiable part of the model so the rest of the year still makes sense without them.

This answer is general education. Apply it to the property's actual location, agreements, and circumstances. Where a decision requires professional advice, use a qualified adviser.
