How do I evaluate a management contract?
Published October 1, 2026 · 1 minute read
The answer
Review scope, fee basis, additional charges, authority, reporting, account access, termination, data handling, and responsibilities for existing reservations. Check exclusions as carefully as included services. Ask for worked examples and have significant legal questions reviewed appropriately.
A headline fee percentage is not a complete comparison. The contract should describe how ordinary work and exceptions are handled.
This answer is general education. Apply it to the property's actual location, agreements, and circumstances. Where a decision requires professional advice, use a qualified adviser.
